Description
Antiquing ... always one of my favorite activities ... and especially when doing so surrounded by a great group of friends. Spending time roaming rooms filled with treasurers from the past, everyone was finding a special something that brought back memories and smiles. Suddenly my eyes were caught by sunlight gleaming away in a corner. OOO something shiny!! Walking closer, I found a full case of tall, green-glass bottles, pristine clean ... and positively glowing. They reminded me of the beauty of old fashioned Coke or Pepsi bottles ... the kind you almost never see anymore. But "Spur" from Canada Dry?? Since I'd never heard of the brand, I made a mental note to do some investigating when I get home.
Spur was a cola drink produced and distributed in the southern part of the United States beginning in the late 1930s to possibly around 1948, according to "Antique Bottles . net." It had a "zip in every sip," according to its tagline.
I captured the photo upon which this image is very loosely based at Blue Peacock Antiques in the heart of Old Town Winchester, Virginia. http://bluepeacockantiquesva.com
To understand my mindset and a bit about the background of the "why" of the edits I did to this image (and many others that I have in my portfolio here) ... you might get a kick out of my blog entry from a while back:

To make the copy/paste technique of the above address link work properly (I tried the blue-linky way but it didn't work), make sure you delete the spaces you'll see when you paste. Thanks!!
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
